Is Nox Player a Malware? Nox Android Emulator
Nox Malware Virus Android Emulator |
Maybe, it is a Malware.
This is what I experienced trying to install Nox several months ago, maybe right now it’s been fixed, i don’t know, i’ve never tried it again.
Some people say that it's totally legit software, but i don’t have time to try it again. My suggestion is just keep your Antivirus on, so it will tell you if it's Malware or not.
So here's what i've experienced
After not using Nox Player for a long time, this time i try to install this Nox Player, an android emulator device for PC.
I've abandoned Nox, because my favorite android emulator is now BlueStack, then today i try to install Nox, giving them a chance, because i have had trouble in BlueStacks.
It is surprising to me that it turns out Nox has changed radically its system, to become a malware program. And I don't know if it’s intentional by their developers, or they might just get hacked.
In the past, I've had quiet experiences using Nox with no troubles, it runs smoothly, no suspicious thing happens, all just working like a normal android emulator. Then after i switch to BlueStacks because BlueStacks can not open some apps that i installed, i decided to look for another Android emulator, and Nox came to my mind, so i decided to install it.
After the installation of Nox, suddenly my Bluetooth mouse is not working. It is not that my mouse is broken, the viruses is damaging my Windows OS. The driver correspondent to Mouse stopped working.
In the installation process, a typical malware will penetrate into browsers, like Chrome, Mozilla, Explorer and Opera, adding browser extensions to replace the original search engine settings.
And then they also install Chromium browsers with their search engine set by default, not real search engines, it may just direct you into phishing sites or so they can do many, many malware stuff inside those links when you click on it.
And also with so many additional programs they install in the background, those programs can not be uninstalled using the Controller panel, the only option you can do is to delete the folder where's the location of the malware.
Like any typical malware, the uninstallation process can not be easily done, there's no actual uninstall button, even if you go to the Windows control panel, it is not going to uninstall Nox completely, their Malware is still in our windows background process. This is frustrating, to remove them manually.
They also added this fake Anti Virus ByteFence anti malware, just get rid of it completely. This is fake and useless anti malware, no use of this program, it even probably contains unwanted programs to deep harm your computer, stealing your passwords, etc.
Removing Nox malware is hell of an experience, you can only do it manually. Even uninstalling from the control panel is not guaranteed to get rid of that malware.
Here's how you can remove malware from your computer:
- Open control panel and uninstall the suspicious Nox App
- Open file explorer, and go to C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local
- Go to Windows control panel and Find ByteFence anti malware from control panel and uninstall it.
- Find Chromium and uninstall them.
- The last thing is to disabled malware services that can start automatically when we reboot our computer.
This is a really frustrating experience, it's been a while i am not dealing with this malware. Never ever install Nox Player again, i will stick with BlueStacks for my android emulator. If you want to download BlueStack go here to the official homepage BlueStack page www.bluestacks.com.
